Professor Choolwe Nkwemu Jacobs
Co-Founder & Country Director
Professor Choolwe Jacobs is the co-Founder and Country Lead of Women in Global Health Zambia (WGHZ) chapter movement. A distinguished public health expert, researcher, and advocate, she is widely recognized for her leadership in health systems strengthening and gender equity. Professor Jacobs established WGH Zambia to create a platform where women’s voices, leadership, and expertise are visible and valued. She continues to champion policies and initiatives that challenge systemic inequalities in health, inspiring a generation of women to lead with purpose and courage.


Flata Mwale Mungeke
Deputy Country Director
Flata Mwale Mugeke is an advocate for inclusive health leadership and gender equity. As Deputy Country Lead, she provides strategic and operational leadership across WGH Zambia’s programs and partnerships. Flata brings a wealth of experience in community health, project management, and organizational coordination. Her passion lies in amplifying the role of women and allies as key decision-makers in health. Through her leadership, WGH Zambia continues to grow as a platform for collaboration, advocacy, and accountability in advancing gender-responsive health systems.


Dr. Margarate N. Munakampe
Policy and Planning Manager
Dr. Margarate Munakampe is a public health scholar and policy advocate whose work bridges research, practice, and policy influence. As Policy and Planning Manager, she leads WGH Zambia’s efforts to integrate gender equity into national and regional health frameworks. She plays a pivotal role in shaping advocacy strategies that promote equitable representation, evidence-based policymaking, and accountability. Dr. Munakampe’s leadership reflects WGH Zambia’s commitment to transforming health systems through data, dialogue, and gender justice.


Lydia Amanzi
Media and Communications Coordinator
Lydia Nema Amanzi serves as the Media and Communications Coordinator for Women in Global Health Zambia, where she leads visibility, digital engagement, and storytelling efforts that amplify women’s voices and leadership in health to achieve gender equity. She plays a key role in shaping the chapter’s communication strategy, curating inspiring stories of Zambian women transforming health systems, and strengthening the organization’s public presence across media platforms. At WGH Zambia, she is committed to building a strong movement that uplifts women leaders, connects diverse voices, and advances the vision of gender-transformative leadership in global health.


Rhoda Chabaputa
Capacity Building Lead
Rhoda Chabaputa is dedicated to nurturing leadership and professional growth among women in health. As Capacity Building Lead, she designs and oversees training, mentorship, and knowledge-sharing programs that empower women to lead effectively. Rhoda’s approach centers on skills development, confidence building, and creating equitable opportunities for advancement. Her leadership strengthens WGH Zambia’s commitment to transforming potential into power.


Given Mafuta
Capacity Building Co-Lead
Given Mafuta serves as the Capacity Building Co-Lead, collaborating closely with the Capacity Building Lead to implement impactful learning and leadership initiatives. With a robust background as a midwife, coupled with experience in public health, advocacy for improved health systems, and organizational development, Given has established herself as a prominent figure in fostering and spearheading movements for equitable health systems for all. Her firsthand experience in women's health inspires her commitment to empowering women by providing them with the tools, networks, and confidence necessary to drive transformative change. Her dedication to mentorship and inclusive learning reflects WGH Zambia’s core belief that investing in women leaders strengthens entire health systems.


Namakau Mundia
Advocacy Lead
Namakau Mundia is a passionate communications and advocacy specialist with a strong background in Midwifery public engagement and gender equality. As Advocacy Lead, she drives campaigns that elevate women’s voices and influence within Zambia’s health sector. Namakau’s work focuses on shifting narratives, mobilizing communities, and influencing policy to dismantle systemic barriers and bringing a unique blend of clinical experience and grassroots engagement. She has worked extensively with youth-friendly corners, leading outreach programs that address sexual and reproductive health rights, mental health, and HIV awareness among adolescents and young women.Her leadership embodies WGH Zambia’s mission to challenge power and privilege for the purpose of achieving gender equity in health leadership.


Naomi Banda
Advocacy Co-Lead
Naomi Banda is a passionate advocate for youth engagement, gender equality, and health equity. As Advocacy Co-Lead, she supports strategic communication and outreach initiatives that strengthen WGH Zambia’s presence and influence. Naomi believes in the power of storytelling and community mobilization to drive social change. Her work ensures that advocacy efforts are inclusive, evidence-informed, and grounded in the lived experiences of women and girls across Zambia.


Tracy Chilombo Kamoto
Finance and Administration
Tracy Kamoto is a dynamic and results-driven finance and accounting professional with a strong track record in financial management, analysis, and reporting. With experience spanning multinational corporations to startups, Tracy brings deep expertise in financial modelling, forecasting, tax planning, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. Her commitment to ethical leadership and sustainable growth makes her a valuable addition to our team and mission.


Chisomo Nyangu
Administration Officer
Chisomo Nyangu plays a key role in managing operations and coordination across WGH Zambia’s initiatives. As Administration Officer, she ensures seamless communication, documentation, and logistical support for programs and events. Passionate about organizational excellence and member engagement, Chisomo’s work keeps the movement connected, responsive, and efficient in achieving its mission of gender-transformative leadership in health.
